alien walks into a bar...

stop me if you’ve heard this one…

for a project at school
aside from topology tweaking in xsi, the character was completely scultped, textured and bumped in z

did the “td love” tour last thursday in new york! fantastic stuff being done! and zmapper fun abounds!

and yes…there was an intentional nod to “abe” of oddworld

Poor Alien… alone and so sad…

:+1: :+1:

ah but he is not alone…he has himself(reflection) for company.

really dig the atmospheric lighting it’s almost taken away by the stark black universe there but it seems to work.

Nice job!!!

Awesome stuff. I love the alien, really cool.

  Don’t know whether to laff or cry…Excellent.

I’m doing the TD Love tour in London next month, sounds like it’s gonna be fun…

Nice work BTW, you’ve created a nice mood with the colours, maybe you could just blur the background a little so the focus is more on the alien…

I love the lighting, very ambient, nice atmosphere, would love to see some swirling cosmos through the window…

thanks for the kind words everybody!

“hey, i’m sitting in a bar naked! man, i’m wasted.”

nice job

fleshing it out a bit
several people told me to add more stars soooo
and the bartenders arm was also completely created in z

i also (obviously) lightened it up a bit i think you can see the characters better but you loose a little of the mood any thoughts anyone?

I liked it better without the other character, gave it more atmosphere. Also try blurring the backround like someone else suggested to give the compostion more focus.

The new scene is great, but the lighting does deminish the mood you had previously. Maybe try changing the lighting around the character.

In other words, have a different lighting surrounding the character, to that in the surrounding environment…

prefer the old lighting better.

I think if you added some depth via nebulae etc instead of just stars or perhaps a little motion blur on the stars or even some reflection on the inside of the window from the lights on the tables by it…it would make it more real and our eyes would stay with the character rather than being drawn to the flat space.

Yo I luv this! IMHO I like the first one better, but I do like the bartenders arm…maybe if it was farther to the left it would detract less…also adding stars was a good idea but I would go with more of the small ones and just a few bright ones…just shooting ideas This realy is a great image.

The alien is pretty cool but i think the atmosphere is the best (ie with the glowing materials, the surrounding models (i especially love the chairs)…)
