Alien Head (WIP)

This is my second project in Zbrush, it was a random assignment given to me and it’s turned into being pretty fun. So much so that I really haven’t worked on my Hopkins piece…

Anyways I started making a rough model in XSI and have started fleshing it out in Zbrush. I’m planning to alpha deformations sooner or later and then adding a quick texture to it, bring it into photoshop and make it look fancy. My goal is to make it fairly quickly to work my speed and to have somthing that looks fairly decent by the time I’m done with it.

Once again comments, critques and suggestions are welcome

Hey that is a pretty good start… Needs some hard edges to offset all the smoothness, but has potential.

Thanks for the suggestion I tried to add some more hard edges when I worked on more of the detail.

I’ll be painting it soon to see what texturing is like in Zbrush. I’ll keep that updated as soon as it starts going. But before I do that I like to here suggestion towards detail and structure, cause even though I am trying to do this project as quickly as possible I’d still like to make it look like it works, that is as if it was a real creature. (Minus the realism cause I don’t believe my self there yet.)

Getting better. However you are having an issue many have, all your edges/ridges flow off in gradual slopes, it’s just not natural. The other issue is that almost everything is pulled out, but in most organic surfaces many are indented and flowed around. So I suggest the pinch tool and the inflate tool, then the smooth tool and then do it all over as you define masses, umder surface musculature, bone, etc…

In essence, it looks great small, ie. far away. Howecer as we get closer/larger everything belnds into each other taking away definition.

[color=Black]Thankyou once again for your help I tried fallow your suggestion but I fear that I just can see what you are noticing, but I maybe more confuse because I used more Zsub on this model then I did Zadd and you noticed more places as been pulled out…

But I was able to make other edges more hard using your pinching method and I liked the effect.

Well here’s my first attempt at texturing. C&C’s are welcome. I am planning to composite to a scene later in photoshop after lighting it in XSI.
