I’ve always been a massive Alice Cooper fan since I was a child. The weird thing is although I’m a musician I’ve never learnt any of his song’s. Also I thought it about time I tried a ‘serious’ model of someone I actually like. So I present to you Alice Cooper - the King of Shock Rock!

A low poly head (maya was used) was imported to Zbrush and everything done there in an hour and 10 mins. The only post effect is the background smoke as I’m sick of having black bacgrounds in my renders. :lol:

I’ve still got his eye’s and hair to do (hairs gonna be a challenge!) and add his trademark white top hat. All C & C welcome.

Lighting is a little dark, so it’s tough to see the details of what you go going on there, but I like it.

The only fond memory of Alice Cooper…that I still have from the 70’s was of him being in a wonderfully silly detective tv show called the Snoop Sisters…can’t for the life of me remember the name of the episode though. I do remember it being quite hilarious at the time to see him and Helen Hayes together hahaha.

Heh heh … Feed My Frankenstein … Alice on vocals, with Joe Satriani and Steve Vai trading licks, double entendres by the bucket. Classic rock moment.

Don’t forget the snake and golf clubs!

Love the forehead wrinkles. Maybe it’s the shadows, but the nostrils look a bit sharp or something. Good luck with the hair!

billrobertson42 : Nice to see the waynes world quote! (indecentally it was released on my 18th birthday, so very happy memories). I made the image a little dark on purpose as you don’t often see alice in the light lol. Besides I’m a sucker for dark atmospheric images. Glad you liked it.

aminuts : Damn of all the alice clips from TV shows I have thats one I’ve not got. I’ll have to see if I can hunt it out online now.

Moochie : People often forget that until feed my frankenstein satrani and vai had never played on an album together. The snake is actually a great idea for the final composition, I might well add that.

Frenchy Pilou : You reallly have posted a nice shot there frenchy. From my favorite period (raise your fist and yell / trash) and has given me a few idea for a facial pose for him once I work out how to do hair etc…

smileman : Well your partly right and partly wrong. Yeah I’m a massive fan and have played guitar since I was 8. (I also used to teach guitar for a living as well, plus to date have 4 CD’s out which dont make anything) But alas I don’t have long hair, I used to, but that went the way fo the Do-do and is not extinct. I think I got to the age where a ‘sensible’ haircut was needed.

So the next step is his eyes and hair. Now the maya hair is going to be really interesting as I’ve never actually used it before! So I’ll have to hope the help files are good enough to follow. I am also thinking of putting him in a tux as well, no ideas on the background for the compostion yet.

Now that I’m looking at it on my notebook (with a nice LCD) I can see a lot of the details. Last night I was looking at it on an older monitor. Much better now.

I’ve given up on the whole maya hair things…talk about it not being intuative! So now I’ve got shave and a haircut I’m trying to work that out. (at least with this it the hair actually looks like hair!) All going well I should have a 1st draft of the hair soon.

Alice needs to stick out his tongue. I don’t recognize him without that…

At the moment Alice is without a tounge, teeth or side of the mouth. I’ll add those if needed later. Damn this hair is giving me probs, actually tow of them. I can get it looking great tecture wise in shave and a haircut for maya but it takes about 2 hours to render at photorealistic qwuality. So I’m probably doing something wrong. Plus I sort of messed up my 1st go at it so it’s back to the drawing board.

Due to a HD format (Brought on by a nasty virus) I’ve lost lots of the stuff I was working on. I do have this head however so I knocked up a quick turntable animation of the work done so far. There’s a nasty grey streak on the top of the head that I’ve got to sort out and I want to go for the next layer of the skin texturing.

Having a few probs with maya ‘forgetting’ to displace any geometry and taking hours even for simple stuff. So until I work that out I can’t do a full render with the hair.
