Al Khamis Mosque

This is the Al Khamis Mosque, it’s over a thousand years old, I was commissioned to rebuild the old Mosque to show how it looked at that time, so this is only how I saw it with the information available. I worked with historians, studied the left over structures, and had experts that know how the old buildings used to be build at that time. This was build on Modo, Lightwave, and ZBrush, the time was about two months with the animations, the animations are five different times of the day, it is the five calls for prayer for Islam. Hope you enjoy!!

I will put up the links soon.. [more here](http://muharraqi-studios.com/muharraqi.php?pn=105) [](http://muharraqi-studios.com/muharraqi.php?pn=105)

WOW - amazing as usual!!! It’s a real bummer that I never got chance to meet you in Bahrain in September of '07. It’s always great to see the amazing work that you churn out. Thank you for continuing to share!!!

Peace - Mike

No worries Mike… next time I would love to have you over at the Studio… buddy

This is an excellent post. Awesome! Can you tell us some more about what you did with zbrush etc, this is really interesting to me, having an art background, but on the other hand having an architectural drawing background too (autocad, sketch up, all this stuff and lot of pencils, inks, not so young you see)

Update, I see now, just beautiful.

Big thanks  and it’s always nice to meet other artists here…

Well sure I will share these details with you… in the next few

I love ZB… and it’s ability to allow me to create content from nothing… or from something… here I used it to sculpt the details on the walls, like the columns, ground, tree details… there is a bit of ZB everywhere…

In the old day I used to just think that ZB is good for my monsters etc. :), now its for anything…

Really great work. :+1:

Hi! Night doesn’t work in my opinion. And also the animations of the bushes and palm trees can be better/looser. Some depth of field lens blur would make it better.

I like these renders here :+1:

Very nice, are you using Vue 7 for the atmos, terrain and greenery?..:+1:

Saw the thumbnail and guessed it was you…
awesome work as usual…

Thanks a lot man… No Vue…

here are some interiors…
Wires are next
