Last night I tried working out the composition and pose. I am going for an extreme perspective thing like a lot of SF concept art. Anyways what do you guys think?
I think it look s pretty awesome. Nice and dramatic. Can’t see the face and arms too well in your screenshot tho. I wonder how he fights so well with that giant necklace (I know it’s the character design, not a mistake by you or anything
here is the latest. I want to push the perspective more but i cant in zbrush. I just need to work out some things on his clothes, and feet, then adjust some rocks, then i think i will take it into maya for rendering.
My Favorite SF character. This is awesome honestly.Very inspiring for a starter like myself.Well done.
Swwwooooosssssh!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the style, looks exactly like sf2alpha Akuma, cant wait for the final render
Akuma is the man! I wanna see some smoke/energy floating around there. Lookin good bro!
Hey guys,
So I have found some time and energy to continue working on this. I am almost done with the sculpt. I have some stuff to work on on his base and some other things, but this part is pretty much finished. I am going to start lighting him soon, hopefully i will have an update sooner than later.
Katon
that is looking f’n awesome man. my favorite part is the hands. very angry, gnarly and expressive! did you pose them in zbrush, or is that a part of your original mesh?
Great sculpt! !
Awesome sculpt of one of my fave SF characters. Now do his brother.
Thanks guys, glad you like it. I hope to have some of his base made tonight. I will post when I have a bigger update.
ndustripop: I posed him kind of like this, but was still symmetrical at first, then after sculpting a decent amount I posed him and just tweaked stuff to where he is at now.
This is totally rad,
very cool
Always wanted to sculpt this dude great Job …like the style
man, this is great! and the attention to detail is awesome!
however, he looks very short… like a dwarf. It looks like he’s only about 5 1/2 heads high (maybe a little more), which would put him (proportionally) somewhere between a dwarf and a normal man. Akuma should have heroic proportions… maybe 6 1/2 or 7 heads…
I know you said you were done w/ this one, but I figured I’d point it out. also did a quick photoshop to show you what I meant (hope you don’t mind)
Great sculpt! I get a feeling perspective isn’t turned on though, that might be why it is giving that look of him being short. Though, I don’t mind the proportions.
hey katonc!
great to see more from you. i still think bring forth your frankenstein model, every once in awhile. that was you, right?
nice work, especially the arms.

hey guys thanks for the comments.
testure: thanks for the thought, but I like the squattier style, all street fighter guys have crazy big feet and hands, which automatically make them feel a little more dwarf like, but in motion they read better. And I decided to go with a more stylized approach and push these features. Also with perspective in maya it isn’t as noticeable, I will post a screen of that sometime soon so you can see. Thanks though, i appreciate your thoughts. It is just a style choice on my end, more 3rd strike style.
abyss103: yeah I made a Frankenstein, I have thought about posing him up and finishing him, I just haven’t. I get sick of older stuff sometimes and just move on and let them be. Glad you like it!
hey,
I like the SD like props you’ve done, keep it as it is =)
with textures it’s five stars for me
