Akuma Wip

Hey guys,

So the other day i decided to make a really basic mesh, kind of like an armature for sculpting, and then started messing around. Then I came across a SF drawing that I liked so i decided to make it. Here is Akuma after a few hours. I am trying to just fly through it and keep it fun, and not worry to much about tiny details. The rope is temp. I wont be able to work on this all weekend, so hopefully and update sometime early next week. Crit is always welcome.

This is going great… You hav very nicely captured the feel of Akuma… I will only say that the pants, mainly on the back side feel quite balloon… but this is awesome so far :smiley:

nice! i’ve been wanting to do an akuma for a while myself! looking good so far. crimp those finger up and he’s ready to throw a fireball. you’ve got some backward energy flowing like wind is blowing in his face working here. lookin good man. keep going with this one!

thanks guys for the comments. I am just roughing it in right now, and trying to keep the energy in the sculpt, but i will work out some of the things said.

industripop your right, i am going to try and make it feel like energy is rising up from him. I am thinking of making a rock base with stuff floating up or something.

No update really, i hope to be able to work on it tonight, but here is without his shirt, i figured i could post something new for now.

Yo Katon! Great start! Its good to see work from you on these forums again. Im already digging where you are going with the silhouette. Im definitely going to keep my eye on this thread.

not an exciting update, i havent had anytime to work on it. Just reposed the hands and added some gaurds. I am going to try and set up a better pose soon.

i was able to spend a little time last night on the face. moving forward slowly.

Great update to the face! Has an illustrative look to it. Hopefully you won’t get too refined with the face, I think it adds to it. I really like how you approaching his teeth. I think I should have done something similar for my Blanka.

Last night I tried working out the composition and pose. I am going for an extreme perspective thing like a lot of SF concept art. Anyways what do you guys think?

I think it look s pretty awesome. Nice and dramatic. Can’t see the face and arms too well in your screenshot tho. I wonder how he fights so well with that giant necklace (I know it’s the character design, not a mistake by you or anything :slight_smile:

here is the latest. I want to push the perspective more but i cant in zbrush. I just need to work out some things on his clothes, and feet, then adjust some rocks, then i think i will take it into maya for rendering.

Hey guys,
So I have found some time and energy to continue working on this. I am almost done with the sculpt. I have some stuff to work on on his base and some other things, but this part is pretty much finished. I am going to start lighting him soon, hopefully i will have an update sooner than later.
