AKIENS bust

[thumb.jpg]AKIEN-BACK.jpg
AKIENS is an ancient noble alien race who live in AKIEN planet in Markarian 421 Galaxy (397 million light-years from earth). They are originally a hybrid reptile-fish specie. Their home world is a land by day (48 hs earth hour) and lake by night (26 hs earth hour). After 1 million evolution they have to adapt themselves with mechanical protection duel to lake toxic which caused by the meteor crash in 1000 years ago. Although they develop high level of technology, the AKIENS still follow their ancient ritual and social structure such as incorporate their tribal design patterns in to their clothes & machines (as a sign of being blessed by the higher being - The Mighty Creator) and the chief in charge of justice & government. The name “AKIENS” in their native language means “Lanterns in the darkness”.

Hi friends!

I sculpted and rendered the bust in zbrush, also used maya for making detail elements’ base meshes and finally photoshop to combine render passes and color grading. I hope u like it :stuck_out_tongue:

cheers

Cool creature
I would tone down the skin texture a bit, it’s too hard in many places.

I guess its planet has a weird gravitation force pulling it faster at night ( eclipse shaped? ), but from what I’ve learned all planets are more or less sphere shaped, so day and night is usually the same amount of time, if there isnt a nearby sun shinning from another angle. But since the planet spins around a star, the angle from the other star will also change. Lots of complex variables

Anyway, I wasnt here to understand how the planet has a shorter night than day. Nice sculpt, I agree with Santis about the skin texture. I would probably add some different tone in his skin too, doesnt need to be huge color shifts, but maybe a little darker green here, and lighter there etc.

Hard surface modelled in Zbrush?

Hi Friends! thank you very much for your feedback:D
I will experiment with the skin color tone as your suggestion and post the result later on.
@VictorCS: It is 95% hard surface modeling in zbrush only acouple of small plates on the armor I use goz and maya to generate base meshes for later sculpting.
