hello, here is a likeness study of an African guy im working on
Looking pretty good so far! I’m quite curious as to how you achieved the deep recesses of his cheeks where they overlap near his nose. Looks like more than just a Dam_Standard.
Some minor critiques:
- The nose of the reference image appears wider than on your model. I wasn’t sure about mentioning it since you said this was a likeness but I noticed a lot of the little details match to the photo so I’m assuming you were going for as accurate as possible.
- I think the photo has a little bit more definition in the two large lumps that make up the chin, and that the chin isn’t quite as squared off as in your model.
- The photo’s cheeks seem a little more full, maybe even a little higher?
- Under the cheeks on the photo where his skin is sagging on either side of his mouth feels a little more… droopy?.. than on your model. It adds a little to the feeling that his skin has sagged over time, adding to his feeling of age.
None or all of those things may have been intentional, so if they were then just disregard all of those. I was just hoping to give some constructive feedback to help out, so hopefully I didn’t offend. It’s definitely a better face than I could sculpt! Thanks for posting it
thank you a lot, actually i’m glad your mentioned all these indifference that’s what im looking for so i can improve
As for the deep recesses of his cheeks i used mask then i pulled down the cheeks using the move brush, and i used dm_standard to to refine and push the wrinkle deeper, hope that helps
