advice on how to add teeth and gums

I need some advice on how to create teeth and gums for my character.

See the attached image: You can see I have sculpted my character with its mouth open and want to add teeth. What approach should I take to creating the teeth: Should I go into Maya and build some basic teeth shapes the bring them into zBrush. Or Should I add another subtool to the model ? This seems like the obvious approach but I have no idea what method I need to sculpt the teeth as a sub tool . Can someone please give me some advice or point me to a tutorial that shows how someone does it.

There are many ways of doing this. I usually use zSpheres for teeth. You can create gums of almost anything, sphere, zSpheres, Plane, cube… you name it. A little retopo might be required, but that’s ok

This is how I did it, I created teeth using a torus shape I positioned it into the mouth and then started sculpting.

How can I delete the back half of the torus shape ? I tried using the “ClipCurve” brush but as you can see from my attached image the “clip curve” brush does some sort of strange Boolean.

Can someone suggest how I can delete the back half of my Torus shape.

Looks like I am answering my own questions tonight.

So to delete Geometry I need to mask and hide that masked area then click on Geometry/Delete Hidden.

Me, personally…id use the teeth provided in 1 or more of the zbrush startup models…thats just me…tweak them to your liking of course. Other than that…id sculpt them from simple primitives etc ^^,
No secret to it…just time and dedication ^^,

Hopefully sum1 else has some better, more likeable answer?
