ADE Exporter and Adaptive options for 8K maps

Is there any way to export an 8K map (8192) using zBrush and adaptive settings?

I’ve found that the mesh I am working on yields much better results with adaptive settings, so would prefer to keep with it. ADE does not support this mode, and zBrusg adaptive displacement only exports 4K maximum

Is there a workaround for this?

Thanks

Ben

The largest displacement maps that ZBrush can create are 4096x4096.

What you should do is remap your model into multiple regions. For example, one half of the model could use region 0,0 to 1,1 and the other half region 1,0 to 2,1. There are no limits to the number of maps you can use for a single model, but four 4096x4096 maps will be equal to one 8192x8192 map.

You would then use the MultiDisplacement2 plugin (which came with DE) to create all the maps at once.

Cool, ADE can export 8K maps, I found that the reason I was choosing adaptive was due to some nice pinched effects and overlaps. So instead I caculated my map from lvl 3 (44000 polys) using dsubpix 2 in ADE and it looks better than the adaptive result on the lvl 1 mesh. The lvl 3 mesh has enough geometry to suggest the details I want, I was probably trying to calucalte way too much chnage between my 2400 poly mesh and 2.8Million

Thanks for info!
