adding parts?

Hello there, well i do have a problem, im trying to model this new character but first i cant model a simple horn , and secondly i cant find the way to add the other 3d parts , how i do it, i put the other parts in diferent layers? or in the same one? Can anyone help me out? im still new in zbrush.
here its a half render of my new character…my second one in zbrush.
Its a Minotaurus, but without horns , cos as i said cant find the way to make them and put them in the head.

One of the ways is to draw one part and place the marker for it. After that place the second model i n the same layer. Position it where it will be attached to the first model. Place a marker for the second object. Under tools there is a tool named multimarker. You can clear the layer at this point and using multimarker tool draw the new object which now is a combination of the previous ones. Every part of the model keeps the polygroup settings so you can select them separately. Have in mind, that the new object is now a single object.

Oh thanks, i think im still missing something cos  idunno why, doesnt work and converts the first objet into a flat image so i can rotate or edit anymore. i have the huge tutorial in pdf about zbrush 2, someone knows where i can find how to do it in the manual?
And umm…what do u think, guys about the model? have some kind of future? or its crap? im not sure, im a begginer with this.

That’s the way it works. Place one object, place marker, place the second one, marker it, take multimarker tool, draw the comb model and while in multimarker tool you can rotate the separate objects according to your needs. When done under the modifiers under the multimarker tool press “make plymesh” and there you’ll have your combined model.

Try to search this forum for “multimarker” and “multi marker” and you’ll find posts relating to your problem.

Zantos - are you familiar with Maya? Was either model sculpted from a primitive or a poly mesh?

Ryan

the help menu in zbrush has very good tutorials on the use of Multi-Markers. Check em out…they will help ya catch on quick.

 Thanks to all, im gonna try that multimarkers thing right now
Ryankingslien, no im not familiarised jet with maya, until now i only been using graphic design programs only, and the model is sculpted from a basic tool sphere in zbrush, here its the fast sketch i made by hand to do in zbrush.

Thanks to All

That is a gorgeous pallette on this last post. However you arrived at it…well, keep doing that! Really nice.

ok, it works the multimakers thing , but i still want to add more parts, i know how to do it know, but its not the point now, the point is that for some strange reason that its pissing me off so much is that when i want to move, rotate or scale something of that group of objects the first tol i marked as multimaker disapear each time i move , rotate, or scale the other object i selected, so i cant really put the object in the right position cos i dont see nothing, i yust see the object i selected , the other object remaining and voila, the first maker its gone and i see the background, but when i stop the manipulation , voila hop! appears again. how i can solve this problem???
   its getting on my nervs!!!

Help!

DarK ZanatoS

it work in that way… when you move or rotate the first object( the object reference marker) disappear and reappear.
Andreseloy

work-around for disappearing multimarker - add a dummy object and reorder the multimarker objects. Then the dummy will be the one that disappears.

LINK to a thread where the problem is discussed and a note about MOLDY2 which provides a few buttons specifically for multimarker manipulation.

p.s. you are posting some exciting new work lately!

Think you save my life , cos i was gonna suicide , i was desesperate . you know when u dont know the program youre nervous, sweaty, angry , curiose, excited, hyperactive, but having this problems i was gonna kill myself. Thanks again, thanks.

Thanks again, im getiing this of the multimakers. i finally put the horns in their place. And umm, people, u think need eyes? demon eyes or black eyes with a little shiny white part?
min progress2-1.jpg

Nice Work so far. I’d vote black shiny eyes and a slightly rusted/tarnished nose ring. Oh and some faint steam coming out the flaired nose. The hair isn’t bad, actually it’s nice, which is hard to make to good while flat.

His head looks more horse shaped than bull. I’d widen the skull and drop the horns lower so that part of the skull is flatter. Again nice work. :+1: :+1:

oh thanks ill try that , and yes youre right, looks like a horse head, i ddnt notice.

Well , after so much work in zbrush following the things you guys told me i end up with this head of a bull, also i used photoshop. Still not finished, i need to play more with the lights to make a dark , misterious and dangerous enviroment.
What u guys think of the model???
