Adding geometry leads to spikes in GoZ

Hello to all.
I’m trying to figure out a problem I’m having with GoZ.
I’m trying to modify the inside area of the mouth by adding geometry.
The problem is that when sent back to Zbrush there are major spikes in the nostrils and the eye area…
I’m betting all the issues are happening since the area is inside and not outside
and I’m not having issues when I change the geometry that is not a crevice.

Is there a way to overcome the problem?

Hi all,

Did Anybody solve this problem ?

Ive been searching the forum and googled for an hour now and cant seem to find a answer to this.

I only added a edgeloop to the nail area of my character in maya and now many vertices pop out in all directions.

If there is already a answer can you please give me a link to the thread.

Sorry right after I asked i found a answer. I saved my model on level 1 and imported the mesh again without spikes.

thank you

A whole lot of time has passed since I posted this question but the problem remains…
Whatever I do in Cinema, especially adding geometry leads to exploding geometry in Zbrush.
There’s no way I would be able to do what the example movie at pixologics site shows.
If anyone has any ideas please do post them!
When I go home I’ll post a small movie to show the problem.

Did you notice S.O.T.Es’ edit.

Hi zber2
Yeah I saw that but that’s exactly what I’m doing.
I’m using GoZ on the lowest level.
I’m not sure about the saving part. Do I need to save first???

I don’t have a GoZ app so I can’t tell you for sure. I just Import and Export as Wavefront OBJ. to my 3D apps and ZBrush and find that really easy and reliable.

Well the problem is even worse when importing the obj. The whole model is shattered.

That happened to me once with an obj. It turned out is was a problem with symmetry. I just split my model down the center in my 3D app and deleted half then did mirror copy of that and welded the 2 halves and it was OK after that.

Here’s a video that should explain things a bit more easily

As you can see even the simplest procedure leads to extreme results.
