Add Model UV's to Another?

Hey Guys!

I have a tiger-like mascot model, and I already sculpted all the details on it, the fur and everything, when I was about to finish I remembered I didnt make the UV’s before starting the detail sculpting, I’m now denying to think I ****ed up and there’s no solution but make it all again having the UV’s done first.

So what would save my life now and I want to know is, is it possible for me to export that same model, in the lowest subdiv level, make my UV’s in 3dsMax, and then somehow bake that model’s UV’s into the model I had in Zbrush, having it being the same with no mesh modifications???

Please tell me it can be done…

Don’t worry. It can be easily done.

First back up your tool!

Second switch to your lowest subdivision and leave everything as is on the canvas. Export this lowest subd version of your mesh as an obj.

Make uv’s in whatever program you like and save over the obj you exported.

Reimport this uv’d obj right over your zbrush version. Now it has uvs! Yaaay!

By the way, you can also polypaint before creating uvs and transfer the polypainting later.

Oh my, Thanks a lot for that man, I can relax now XD

Also thanks for the polypaint detail, good to know
