Add, Cut & intersect buttons for SubTools

This might be a stupid question so bear with me here:

What is the function of the buttons next to the sub tool icons? (apart form the Solo button). Seems like one is an ADD, CUT & INTERSECT button and then there’s something that’s probably a PolyPaint switch…? Where can I read more about these add/cutt/intersect buttons and what their purpose are?

thnx.

You are correct. The first three icons are for the Boolean operation when you Remesh. You can read more about it at the bottom of the wiki page: http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/Remeshing

And you were right again! The brush icon is to toggle Polypaint.

Hi again. Thanks! I’m toying around with their boolean magic. However, it seems like remeshing is only intended for low-res rough forms to start sculpting on. I’ve played around with the polish & resolution slider, but it seems like I can’t really use this method to create nice sharp geometric shapes? (I’m building a mechanical beast. Not organic shapes). Is there any other way I can use boolean operations to create nice sharp edged geometric shapes? Is there another solution to re-meshing?

Thanks!

I’m answering myself in-case someone else needs the same info I ran into to solve my question.

I was about to say, these have pretty much been superseded by DynaMesh.
