Adaptive Skin Fader Bug

Just thought I’d point out a bug in Z3.

EDIT:
The ‘Adaptive skin’ option does not fade-open under the ‘Rapid UI’ but works fine under ‘Classic UI’. Like others, I’m also getting a crash between UI switching.

SPECIFICATION:
XP HOME - CELERON 2.6 - 1.25GIG RAM - 128MB ATI9200SE

3:
My perspective is just not working, no matter what I set it to, although I’m still exploring stuff just incase I’ve missed something.
maybe u didnt switch the perspective on ? to active perspective, u must turn it on by pressing the Persp button (will be orange when active).

Thanks tsugga.

I edited my post because I’d figured that one out, it didn’t look like a button to me so I didn’t press it :o

After further tinkering though, I’m like 99.9% certain about the fader thing being a bug. The remaining 00.1% is that maybe it’s a configuration error that can be edited with the custom UI. I haven’t touched the custom UI yet though, so I doubt that’s the reason.

I can confirm the Adaptive Skin Tool fader-bug(Rapid UI), happens on my machine too.

The reason that the Adaptive Skin button does not work is because it is only available when you have a ZSphere selected. If you switch to a ZSphere you will see that the option becomes available. I agree it’s a little ugly, but it’s not precisely a bug.

After all it’s a bug, because it’s not meant to work like this, it should not be drawn if no Zsphere is selected, but yes a tiny logic one, in the Rapid UI script/s. (remember there are several types of bugs, although that’s one of really tiny ones)

And i guess you have to admit, that such little things confuses beginners.

All right, it’s a bug. And I agree it’s confusing.

But it’s probably not simple to fix. It arises because of the new customization of the interface, which allows the repositioning of items whose functions are not always available.

Yep could be true(at least for us(, because these things are in the RapidConfig File, which is binary, and in the scripts i couln’t find anything related to this.

One of my deep secret wishes for the zbrush interfaces is that when buttons are greyed out some text would appear when you hovered over them that would tell you why it is so, and/or how to get the right mode to do what you want to do.

Thanks all
