Action line

Hi all,

This might be a daft question, but…

I’m just pootling about in the zbrush 4 trial and I can’t seem to draw an action line. I’m in edit mode, on a polysphere subtool, and when I click move it won’t let me draw and action line. Instead, when I move the cursor over the object and draw, it acts like the move brush and starts distorting faces. Can anyone tell me what I’m missing or where I’m going wrong?

Ta very much.

Are you sure you’re using a polysphere and not the Sphere3D? Anything in the Tool palette at launch with a name ending in “3D” – with the exception of Polymesh3D – is a parametric object. TransPose can’t be used with them. You would need to click Tool>Make PolyMesh3D in order to convert it to something that TransPose will work with.

When you have a polymesh object in Edit mode, clicking Move will cause the Action Line to appear. It will also change the icon in the Brush thumbnail (top left side of the canvas) to the Transpose icon. In fact, you can also select the Transpose brush to turn on this editing mode – although just clicking Move is faster. :)
