Accurate stitching along an edge

Hi guys,

Im currently working on a car interior and now completely stumped as to how to achieve realistic looking leather stitching.

Is it possible within zbrush to select an edge and run an alpha around it a changeable amount to create holes or stiches on an object ?

The object is a headrest and so fairly orgranic in its shape. I have good edge loops.

Any help is really appreciated,

Cheers

Steve

I think the stich-brush is ideal in this case. The alpha which comes with this brush is great and because of the lazy-mouse is on, you have very precise control over your stroke. It will follow the model`s contours easily.

you could also create a stitch pattern in 3D and create a zsphere chain that follows your mesh geometry, insert that mesh into the zphere chain and away you go.

though the stitch brush will probably work faster.

Hey goast666, I was wondering if you could explain the zsphere chain a bit more. This technique sounds quit interesting.

Thanks

JM
