Acceptable Polycount levels

Hi all,

I was just wondering what would be an acceptable polycount for a model I have no plans on animating or putting in any game. It will be static, so I assume it could have more polys then for games. Are millions of polys common for stand alone still projects? I suppose the more details I want or the more smooth I wasnt something the more polys I need right?

If you are planning to render in Zbrush you don´t have to care about polycount limmits. But if you want to render in external packages you will probably need to create a lower version to create UV´s that could be handled. Then you can create Nomals Displacement and color texture maps to export with in your mesh to the external rendering engine while keeping your details in the maps.
