ZBRUSH EXPERT NEEDED:
This seems like it’s a 2 part problem, but there could be more that I’m not aware of. I’ve done the best I could to describe the 2 issues that may coincide with each other. I can’t get any work done on this file, I’m completely blocked because I cannot save any work.
Questions:
1.) How can I stop ZBrush from closing? There are no warnings that pop up, it just closes and I can’t save any of my work for this particular file, why?
2.) Where did all my “Low SubDiv” levels go?
Important information:
This particular file includes the following - ActivePoints: 159,142 | TotalPoints: 4.758 Mil
(Could this be why? Suggestions on best practices to reduce are welcomed, a lot of the “Low SubDiv’s” have vanished, why and how did this happen?)
Here are some examples of instances that trigger ZBrush to abruptly close:
- When “QuickSave” is automated. I have adjusted the settings to not Automate “QuickSaves”. The program no longer closes because of Automated QuickSaves because it’s not active. When manually click “AutoSave” ZBrush abruptly closes.
- When I click “File” then “Save As”. The screen reads “File saving in progress” then ZBrush abruptly closes.
- When I was going through reviewing the “Geometry” for each “Subtool” and deleting the higher “SubDiv” levels if there was any.
(Side Note - This is confusing because I once had very “Low” original “SubDiv” levels and now most of them are gone, some “Subtools” don’t even have “Low Subdiv’s”. I know for a fact that I designed “Low SubDiv” levels originally and have “Subdived” them while working. Where are all the “Subdivision levels? Where did they go?)
Process of elimination:
- DynaMesh is off
- I have used other default “Projects” from the “LightBox” and selected “Make PolyMesh3D” then “Subdivided” 2x plus used a few “Brush’s” and “Mask’s”. The project saves. It is my file in particular that has the issue.
Any suggestions would be great!
