hi there again… i have a question about the snake hook brush. why is the result of the 3d snake hook tool not as smooth as the one of the 2.5d snake hook brush?
is there a way to get the 3d one work like the 2.5d?

well the reason why it is not as smooth because the 2.5d snake hook brush is stretching pixols and not polys and the actual snake hook brush is stretching polygons and is resolution dependent and depending on the alpha and the fall off curve it can be modified to do many different things from horns to fur when needed very useful addition to zbush 3.1
you may try using it with a higher resolution mesh to get smoother results

thanks for your reply. i understand, this is a difference between polygons and pixols but i was mainly wondering that the snake hook tool behaves totally different on pixols. you can move the brush slightly and it creates such nice forms. doing the same in polygonmode, no matter if the resolution is high or not, it just does not move like it.
btw, it would be cool if that tool added polygons on the fly
