A Zbrush Beginner!

I saw A bonus on the Indiana Jones Dvd where they used Maya. So I looked into Maya, But I heard that Zbrush is easier for modeling and to me, it looked alot more fun! So, What “free” tutorial would be best to start out with? What assets of the program. What were your starting points?

Thanks,
Jesse.

Pixologic has a slew of free video tutorials on their website. Go nuts.

What do you want to do? Paint images incorporating 3D objects? Create 3D Action figures? Monsters? Race Cars?

Your best bet is to watch the ZBrush videos and follow along. The Canned Mushroom series is also excellent. Also check out You Tube.

Pull up the Demo Head, hit ‘T’ to enter Edit Mode, take the Standard brush, and start adding to the dude, and make him into someone else. Use the Move and Smooth tools to help.

Just working with it, along with watching a LOT of various videos, is the best way to pick it up quickly.

i am new too, and i also had a hard time understanding this whole thing, but i think i am starting to pick it up thanks to a couple of tutorials!

first of theres the basic tutorials on pixologic: here
then there is this tutorial, show how to model/texture a head, from start to finnish, which i find verry helpfull too!
also this 42 min. video tutorial from youtube was a good help!
while you are there, you can check out the reletadet, to see if theres something you can use.
i subscibed to this guy’s channel! i think he have some pretty good tutorials!

else just use google to search!
i am sure you will find something you can use!

Thanks lads! My goal is to make just fantasy characters, like you guys are great at. Maybe for a game or something. Just a cool model, i would also like to be able to model guns. Anything actually;)
