Is there a way to delete a portion of an object? Basically what I would like to accomplish is deleting a selected area of a flat plane, just as you could do in Light Wave for example. So say I sculpt something on a 3d plane and then wanted to delete part of the polys that make up the plane from a square shape to an oval or what ever shape I wanted to end up with as the outer profile.
well you could hide/select what ya want to keep then in lowest subdlevel make sure what you want to keep is visible then go to tools>geometry>delete hidden.
or you could try masking the parts you don’t want to see with 0,0,0 black in your texture.
or mask what you don’t want, reverse mask then hit hide pt in the same menu…then go to tools delete lower levels then delete hidden parts.
make sure when select hiding or mask/ hide pts that you turn double sided on so you don’t end up deleting or missing something that needs to stay or go.
