A Suggestion and a Question!

At first glance when reading the posts in this forum it seems like almost everything is broken, missing or not working in ZBrush 3.12 mac.

If someone from Pixologic were to create a Category for ZBrush 3.12 mac listing the “New” features in ZBrush 3.12 mac listing what works and what doesn’t work people like me who are interested in maybe buying ZBrush (again) will be able to make a proper evaluation and won’t be so confused?

Thanks

Paint Guy: I have to respectfully disagree with your assessment. By all accounts, version 3.12 is an excellent release of ZBrush delivering superior performance to Mac users. It is also a transient version of ZBrush, leading to version 3.5 for both Windows And Mac users.
Since 3.12 has new features+ modified&new UI functions, some of the older plugins need to be re tested and updated in order to take advantage of these features.
As previously stated, details about 3.12 features, updated plugins and any ‘rough corners’ ,will be posted and resolved in a timely manner.

I will have to agree, just to help you with a proper evaluation. Aside from waiting on the plug ins, it’s definitely a step up from 3.1 not only in features, but in speed and smoothness as well. So in my opinion, for any who are wondering about it, get it! I’m very impressed so far. :+1:

No I did not mean that 3.12 it is not an excellent release, quite the contrary, but what I meant is that in this “Questions & Trouble Shooting” forum I see a lot of people saying there are a few missing Plug-Ins etc. and all I was wondering is if there can’t be an “Area” where I can find out what is “included” and what is “working” or not working in the new release of ZBrush so I don’t have to look through every post here to find out.

For e.g. does Zapplink currently work in the 3.12 mac version or is it still unavailable.

Thanks

If you look in the ZScript Utilities forum you’ll see I’ve posted a sticky thread advising about ZBrush 3.12 for Mac OSX and plugins. Currently it is best to assume that plugins don’t work for Mac unless the posts specifically say they do. For user created plugins this is the responsibility of the creator. I’ll be posting a list of updated plugins in due course so that Mac users can keep abreast of developments.
