A starting point? [Answered]

Since this new version does not come with any online help,
other than the links to videos…
which are not working
(yes, I read the notice) … where does one start?

I load the head tool, great… symmetry is working, Zadd, Zsub, etc. I get.

SYMMETRY… I’ve yet found where you turn it on (like after loading the basic sphere and converting to polymesh)

I used zbrush years ago, but this time around I’m sorta lost…
where, other than those non-functioning videos is someone supposed to get a starting point with using this fantastic new Z?

Thanks for help, direction, anything!! -
I have the getting started pdfwhich all points to those videos that are not there

First, take a deep breath…

Press “X” to turn on symmetry across the X axis.

Alternatively, go to transform/activate symmetry. There are more options for radial symmetry etc there.

As for the problems with the Pixologic site, as stated in the thread they will be back up as soon as they get their hardware problems fixed. Flipping out about not being able to see the videos won’t do anyone any good.

There are many, many videos on Youtube and other sites that will introduce you to beginning (or rebiginning) zbrush.

No flipping…

Thanks… simple when you know how… been using sculptris too long.

Will check out u2be and others …

THANKS!!!

No problem, Nate. I’ve been using Zbrush for a couple of months and I’m learning more and more every day. Google is your friend here. Just search Zbrush tutorials and you’ll get millions of hits. Or check out some of the great zbrush books available. I’ve got Introducing Zbrush 4 on my color Nook, and Zbrush Character Creation in paperback. They are invaluable.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the tip I gave you only works in 3d mode. Not 2.5.

Anyway, glad I could help. Usually it’s me doing the asking.

Would really like to get the one for Nook… anything I can download… my isp eats me up with volume of megs and vids are the worst culprit…
PDF’s would be great… I’ll definately google

:+1: Really do appreciate your input :+1:

There are tutorial PDFs in the ZBrush 4R2/Documentation folder of your ZBrush installation and also online documentation here:
