I’m developing a character I call the Petrol Shaman.

I’m very happy to have finished the initial designs for this shaman’s chakras below.

These chakras will adorn his body and will serve as anchor points from which his armor will be built.

These chakra designs are a hybrid mixture of a few of the 2D chakra designs I found on the net.

I came up embellishments such as the horns/pipes idea as a way for the Shaman to release energy.

Everything was polymodeled in 3ds max and then textured in ZBrush. The final version will have a much “dirtier” and realistic appearance.

Sahasrara (The Crown Chakra) is generally considered to be the chakra of pure consciousness.

Ajna (along with Bindu, also known as the third eye chakra) is linked to the pineal gland which may inform a model of its envisioning.

Vishuddha (The Throat Chakra) may be understood as relating to communication and growth through expression.

Anahata (The Heart Chakra) is related to the thymus, located in the chest.

Manipura (The Solar Plexus Chakra) is related to the metabolic and digestive systems.

Svadisthana (The Sacral Chakra) is located in the sacrum (hence the name) is considered to correspond to the testes or the ovaries that produce the various sex hormones involved in the reproductive cycle.

hi there EricArtman first of all i gotta say that i find your designs to be quite impresive and inspiring and i was hoping if you could share 1 of your zbrush models or 1 of your 3dsmax models in their early stages.:+1:

and well there is another issue that i find quite disturbing :

well the dual triangles symbol in this design happens to be the symbol of my countrys flag which has a very deep meaning to my ppl and i hate seeing it being put on these sort of religeous symbols which making it look like its being torn out of its true meaning and purpose :cry:

acb12, that is interesting. Are you from Israel? It sounds like you’re referring to the Star of David on the Israeli flag.

You’ll find the max mesh below and the two designs I used as inspiration for this heart chakra. If you do a google image search for “Heart Chakra” you’ll see that these two triangles are pretty common to this chakra.

But to be honest, I have very little knowledge as to what they signify in regards to the heart chakra. As someone who’s majoring in mathematics, when I design something, I just like to have fun and not over think it :).

And I actually like the mixing and merging of symbolism. I think there’s way too much divisiveness in the world and especially in religion. So, displaying a mixture of symbols to me, is a way of showing how different things can coexist in harmony.

as i was saying befor i like the way this is going to and ill keep tracking this work to see future updates on it :+1:

well so do i once i design something (tho my desing skills and the period of time in which i am designing things is rly rly short)i am doing it for fun aswell but as you will be to see in vikipedia if you will try to google the star of david is that this symbol has a meaning to my ppl and it once one sees this symbol he instantly directing it twards us.

now as you said, religion beliefs are spliting the world and i couldnt agree about it more but in a time like this that my ppl are lets say not that popular among the rest of the world, for a reason which im still uncapable of understanding , using this symbol (as i dont know which direction heading to) will sure not make things good but can only makes them worst as you will se in vikipedia this symbol was also used in the holocaust to “mark” us as jews.

i wish it wasnt like that but it is. now as a man who is trying to become an artist (and still learns about the whole thing :laughing: ) i wont tell how to act tho im still going to watch your work as it is quite interesting and inspiring.

The Crown Chakra now has life outside of ZBrush.

I can already see smoke and fire shooting from those horns. This is going to be one wicked shaman :slight_smile: .

More Chakra’s to come. And then they’ll be fitted to the shaman.

as i said befor this is an interesting and inspiring thread and im rly looking forward to where this is going to and if i may ask i would like to ask you how are these chakras going to integrate with the final model,cuz i gotta tell you the style of these chakras rly interest me in the way of trying to imaginate the final model that you are aiming to. i know that asking for the concept sketch or something similar will be abit rude cuz if you wanted to you would have shared it by now but im sorry to say that you rly managed ot interest me with this progress yuve made so far :smiley:

I greatly appreciate your interest and enthusiasm regarding these chakras and their future destination :).

It’s funny that you ask about how they’re actually going to adorn the shaman, because I was working on some sketches last night.

Both the crown and third eye chakras will be fitted to a crown of sorts. Although I’m calling it a crown, it will also serve as a piece or armor rather than just decoration.

I’m very excited about the sketches/designs I’ve come up for the armor which will tie these chakras to his body. I’ll try to clean up these sketches a bit and post them.

Sure, like most shamans this guy can heal, but the thing that sets this shaman apart from others is his ability to spew flammable and noxious gases from the horns that adorn his armor. In other words, you want to stay on his good side :D .

i checked out your website, is the political sculpture you have on the site george h.w. bush in all of his illuminati glory? just curious as to whom it was cuz it really looks like hw. nice piece btw.

 My PC really isn't much of a monstrosity :).  I think the main reason it can handle a mesh of this resolution is that it has a 64-bit OS and 6 Gigs of RAM.  And of course, this helmet is comprised of nine subtools, the largest of which has a little over 10 million polygons. I've divided a single tool to a little over 20 million polygons before, but there is quite a performance hit for that.

 Thanks skinnybonez.  It's funny that you keyed in on that [political sculpture](http://www.ericartman.com/sculpture/political.html) on my website.  There's quite a bit of a story that goes with that sculpture.  I sculpted that when I was a wee lad back during the first Gulf War.  It depicts George Bush (President 41) as Kali the Indian Goddess of Death.  While I certainly didn't think Iraq had any right to invade and occupy Kuwait, I was strongly against the way the war was being handled.
 
 Flash forward a little over a decade and we found ourselves with a second Bush in office and a second Gulf War.  It seemed that this sculpture was as relevant as ever.  The thing that creeped me out was back when  journalist Daniel Pearl and others were being beheaded.  I didn't necessarily agree with him, but Daniel Pearl's father has blamed George W. Bush numerous times for his son's death.
 
 So, although I'm not a superstitious person, I do believe some might qualify that as a prophecy :)

yeah man…that bush sculpture is really great and very telling.

the bush trail of evil goes really deep including grandpa bush (prescott).

Yes, gaseous fire flows from the horns that are integrated into the design of the chakras. I’m also integrating these horns into the rest of his armor.

I found when I tried adding the chakras as they appear at the beginning of this thread to this character, they looked too much like costume jewelry and not at all like armor.

So as with the 3rd eye chakra, they’ll all be fused to the armor. And the whole suit will be adorned with gas spewing horns :smiley:
