A Sculpt Revisited

Hi again. You guys probably remember Zagonite WIP that I’d been posting in before but I remember failing to texture that one properly. It was indeed my first time texturing a full model and also I had problems with rendering and time etc and was still learning everything. But I know that won’t be retexturing that one again coz it turned out too colorful like a clown lol and I shud go on to do some new stuff and texture those instead.

In meantime I had recently gave up textured version for this complex character at least and I fixed pose slightly and just rendered with matcaps etc. It’s been a while and i thought I’d just revisit this character for some final adjustments and snapshots :

Oh and by the way, I know that I killed this character with detail lol (in a bad way, that was my major crit as well as the pose) but I had fun detailing him and at least learnt quite a bit from this my first full project with 3D (Silo modeling) and Zbrush ever.

I think that all that hyper-baroque-detail looks good on this model…and if you are a detail-fan, stick with it as long as it give’s you pleasure…you can’t please everybody so its best to stay close to what you like !
Must be a pretty tight mesh you use, to get all that detail !

I personally like the amount of details. One of the things I didn’t like was the facial expression (still don’t). It’s far too weak, can’t really read any emotions from it and you’d have to have a quite extreme emotion to throw your tounge out like that. My personal opinion was (and still is) that you should’ve made the armor in metal instead of… whatever it was.

Well I guess I feel better now about the details at least.

And of course the armor is meant to be in metal like you said VABG :wink: but that was problem in textured version maybe? This is not textured version but is only MatCap sculpt presentation, unless you were talking about textured version.

hi nice amount of detailing but same time looks too crouded no breathing space in the work , good to see such wonderful work, thank you.

I like how u said it, no breathing space lol, I agree the details too crowded etc true I shud look out for that kind of thing next project :smiley:
