A plugin for max

Is there a plugin for max like your going to have for maya. For some reason nothing is working out for me. Since I’m new to zbrush I followed your tutorials which are great by the way. Refering to the vase tutorial I had to add more res in order to get similar clean displaement on the vase. Other wise I couldn’t do it and I was thinking is it because I’m using a mouse and not a wacom tablet.

The issue I’m having after creating the vase and added all the decore on it I went ahead and created a displacement map and followed the procedure to the letter as was written in another thread on this forum. The map was empty another when opened in photoshop a gray flat background, so I then used the demo head and created both a normal and displacement maps both set at 2052 because couldn’t get the slider to sit on 2048 and both maps were really low res maps. Also zbrush crashed 4 times during my attempts on creating these maps. My system is quad core 2.4ghz with 4 gigs of ram and am running windows 7 32 bit which can read 4gigs so it should be handle 4092px maps let alone 2052px.

My final question is what hotkeys are you guys using for zoom and rotate

I assume you’re referring to GoZBrush? It is initially being released for the Mac. Max does not run on the Mac, so there’s no reason to release a Max version of the plugin until ZBrush 4.

Regarding your displacement maps: Are you going to level 1 of your model before you create the map? Does your model have UV’s? Are you restoring your base mesh (or turning on Tool>Geometry>Cage) before creating the map? Are you using the Tool>Displacement menu to create the map, Displacement Exporter, or Multi Displacement 3? As you can see, there’s a lot of info you didn’t provide in your question, making it impossible to help you.

Regarding hotkeys: To move the model on the canvas, hold Alt while you left click and drag on the canvas. To scale the model, hold Alt while you press the left mouse button, but release Alt before you start to drag. It takes a little practice to get the hang of, but quickly becomes second nature.

no I was talking about zbrash 3.1 on pc but since your going to to release one for zbrush 4 that’s great news.

Regading the displacement map I was at level 1 and clicked the the enable uv’s I also clicked the cage button before hitting the create displacement map. I’m currently watching a tutorial from digital tutors on zbrush so I’m trying to learn and get answers on some of these questions. I have learned though creating a detailed vase requires a high polygon count over a million otherwise the patterns don’t come out as crisp and detailed. Once imported in max well as expected it crashed I’m trying to figure out how to use that plugin that’s available for download hoping to get better results. My aim is using zbrush as a paint tool adding depth to my geometry while working in max. For now I realise I’ll have to export to obj but I was hoping there was a plugin already available for max just so I don’t have to export and then re-import.
