A model imported from Maya 2011 doesn't get subdivided properly in Zbrush 3.5 R3

After I’m subdividing, the option to slide into a higher or lower subdivision level is disabled - as if I’ve never subdivided.

The model itself does get subdivided but it remains harden and retain its exact original shape - so basically what I get is the same base mesh model only with a higher poly-count.

I’m using the default settings of the “Geometry” tab and haven’t touched anything else.

Help will be very appreciated.

What are the exact steps that you’re following? Could you show a screen shot of the entire ZBrush interface, with the Tool>Geometry menu visible in it?

Certainly.

I export the mesh from Maya -> Import in Zbrush -> Trying to Subdivide with settings like in the picture.

Thanks for the reply.

Hey dude, from the screen on the left it looks like you haven’t gone into edit mode after you’ve drawn your tool on the canvas. You do it by pressing ‘T’ on your keyboard or hitting the edit button at the top, which is placed between the projection master and draw buttons., after you draw your tool on the canvas When your tool is ready to be edited the brush cursor turns from gray to red.

Hope it helps.
