A little modeling help please?

Hi all, I’m new to Zbrush and am using Zbrush 2. I have a question which will probably seem pretty simple to advanced users.

I’ve modeled a basic head shape with Zsphere’s and also in the preview model, I now want to add a couple additional non-connected zsphere’s by adding them then deleting the intermediate connections, I’m wondering if I can do this without modifying the shape of the already modeled head? Or do I start with a new head?

Cheers

Hi M0man,
Honestly – I know nothing about Zbrush 2.

But speaking as 3.1 user there´d be only one reason for me to delete connecting parts of a Zsphere chain: if I´d want to work with “Magnet Zspheres”. (They´re very useful to create complex meshes)

“It is possible to distort the shape of a zsphere mesh by using Magnet-Spheres. This technique can be very useful for creating wings and similar shapes or adding bulk where it’s needed”

I don´t know what you´re trying to model (might be helpful to include more infos:) ) but sounds like you don´t want to distort the shape of your mesh.
I guess in your case it would be the best to append the
additional objects – as SubTools.
Can you do this with Zbrush 2, too?
I saw many pictures of older models and I really can´t imagine how they did them without using SubTools.

Here are a few links – I hope they´ll help you out:

Edit:
Umm, somebody told me that SubTools are a new Zbrush feature and that there was another way in version 2 to append one object to another.
So I have no clue – sorry, that´s all I can tell you.
