A little challenge...

Thanks Jason, let me tell you that there is a lot of stuff I need to learn in there  . Ok here are the post numbers I can think of : 16-30-36-42
And when I load zgirl it does like post 27. But she helped me to make those tho : see the images.

Well I would suggest grabbing examples later on to work with. Early ones as stated had issues, thus the reason for the long and successful existence of the thread. If your going to grab files, I would suggest nearer to the end where others were posting of successes.

Good idea  I’m silly to check stuff from a while back when I can get the new stuff. Nah ! I’m just getting the learning curve the hardway so I’m going to learn more deeply. Study your past to know your future and live a better present

I’m getting the heads in those late pages !

It’s great to see this thread still alive!

I like the community so far so I’m posting on that thread because I need to learn a lot  I’m going to post some picture of the skin with tweaking done in a wip.

Looks like you have overlapping geometry at hops/butt - this is bad!!

Oh I didn’t sent the new one where I removed the overlaying geometry ?

Here is a picture of the new model then

Hey guys do you have that problem in the face of your adaptive skin ? All the point in the center of the face (nose, mouth, chin, eyes) are not symetrical ?

Strangely it was not doing that before :frowning:

Known issue, check everything before assuming your ready to sculpt or you may get surprised. You can test/restore symmetry (button), but still visually check problem areas. Sometimes you need to rotate a zsphere or move it just a bit to fix things. The very reason teh ‘templant’ idea came into being, so one would not get messed up everytime you started a character.

I can’t fix it and it become enoying. Is it because I’m using 3.0 ?

Nope, been an issue for a long time. It’s not you. Care to post the ZTL (compressed) or maybe provide a link to it? I won’t promise a solution in a timely fashion as I’m a little under the gun these days, but I will look at it and either fix it or give you a script to show you how as soon as I have a few moments.

I fixed my problem with resym and smart resym (Resym first then smart resym)

I must say, you certianly have a style that is all your own…

Hey all,
Im still trying to learn zspheres and found this thread. I downloaded both of the models that were uploaded on page 2, post #19 and #24 but Im having issues. Once I load the model, the zsphere layout looks good but when I hit A for the skin, it becomes terribly distorted.

I looked for an answer to this on this thread but couldnt find anything that directly answered it (unless I missed it). Any heads up would be great!
Thanks for the uploads and info!!

Found so many answers I ran out of questions. Thanks Jason :+1:

When are the Guiness Record people expected?

Looks like a nifty thread, one can learn a lot from it. It took me about one hour to read it, spent instead of working on a model. This thread should worth money.

AA-ron, try a model later on in the thread. Some of those early ones had issues we soon discovered! LOL

The problem you are seeing with the terrible tearing is a scale issue. It has been known since the beta testing. Basically older models in Zbrush2 are a different scale than Zbrush3, you can adjust your scale to get the model inside the new boundaries (several threads address this). These new boundaries are to prevent certain issues and all work generated in Zbrush3 don’t have the problem. You should have seen what happened to my dragon early on in beta testing…

Blaine91555, anytime. I’m glad this thread is still of value. I will hopefully have time soon to take things to a new level.

gregsf don’t be giving us ideas!! Were here to share knowledge to benefit everyone as much as possible. This thread allowed many people to do some amazing stuff early on, and with the new tools in Zbrush3 we have seen a huge increase in zsphere usage and that is good for us all.

Welcome to all of you who are new, it’s a pleasure to know you have found some help here in these pages.

The later pages have the most current processes derived from many people’s contributions, however the earlier pages are of great value in understanding what might be wrong with your application of zspheres.

I apologize for not spending more time divulging cool things in the last year, my time has been consumed by various projects. However, cool things are coming. Perhaps some of the wonderful people who have helped along the way will also have some new stuff to share.

I’ll try to share more. Got a new job at EA (game tester) working nights, I’m supposed to sleep now…

LOL
