This is my first w.i.p. post, although I am a longtime lurker.
With my job, I just hardly ever get to do any private work at all and if I do, I am usually painting whenever I can.
Because that is what I am at core - a painter :slight_smile:
Naturally my first post is about fine arts. It’s a little 3d tribute to Francis Bacon. Well,- 3d and 2d actually. It’s the tension between 2d and 3d that interests me in this “study”.
The heads are all Zbrush with very little photoshopping and the 'framing" is of course Photoshop.
So here it is. I hope some will enjoy. My apologies for the size of the files.

Man, this is so cool Julian K.

I’ve often thought of doing something Baconesque with ZBrush, but yours is an approach I hadn’t thought to use.

I absolutely love it! Francis Bacon is one of my absolute favorite artists of all time and a HUGE influence. Can’t wait to see more!

#EricArtman I vaguely had the Baconesque thing in the back of my mind for a while too but didn’t really think about how. Now it just all of a sudden came out very spontaneously.

I’m a huge fan of your work and also the way you present it .

there will be one more Bacon piece and that will then probably merge into a different project I am working on whenever there is time.
Working title is " The Room". It’s all about one room in which different situations and characters will take place. a bit in the sense of a David Lynch room :wink:
hopefully I get enough time to the the first one out within the next few weeks.

Hah! How I’ve been waiting to see this one finished! Turned out really good! I think the first batch looks great, but I really like the Lynch feel of the second series; might be a coincidence, but the red and green lines in the background (middle image) … Twin Peaks :sunglasses: :+1: .
