ZBrushCentral

a finished head and one to be started

Hello Zedders (im in England:) )

I am going to start some zbrushing on this head tomorrow:

But before i start id like to show you one i did a while ago to experiment with displacement maps in Xsi’s Mental Ray and this is the head from xsi screen first:

Then i have some of the work i did in ZBrush:

And then finally the final result rendered with XSI’s mental ray:

I will try to streamline thw workflow to integrate as much as i can Zbrush to XSI, and then both to PS for fine adjustments of the maps. In the womans case there i used ZBRUSH for mass variations and left the fine details for bump(done in PS). this time ill do the bump and 2 levels of displacement in zbrush and then see what happens LOL
I prefer to show a very early stage of development so i can assimilate your suggestions and POVs better, it helped me a lot with the man’s head at XSIBase(progress thread - http://www.xsibase.com/forum/index.php?board=5;action=display;threadid=23166 ) and it will help me here with the Zbrush part of the process im sure:)

Anyways, talked too much already. hope you guys like this:)

Saludos Muchachos!!!

Mario

Me gusta la expresión, pero la estrella parece de papel y da la impresión de que va a caerse.

Thanks for the replies guys,

I started the texturing on sunday and today i did a gone bad displacement map. im gonna do a new one tomorrow with the ammount of detail i had imagined for him (very subtle) But this one turned out to be very simon bisleyish so i will keep it too as an image. More to come.

Adios

This last picture is beautifull, Great organic modeling.
the detail is nice as well.

I agree…this last one in b/w is beatifully modeled with exquisite detailing…even in b/w it’s photorealistic to me.

Tips or a tut on your technique would be very appreciated.

With the eyes being closed, did you do this for animation purposes so he can blink or something?

Very kewl work.:+1: x 5

jimphillips2, haha!! cheerios mate!!!

Well guys,

Did a new one hour session today and ended up with a very old man… that is not what i want really… the ears look much younger cos when i realized he was too old i stopped and moved to xsi for the displacements… turned out that the displacements are just 98% what i did in Zbrush so im quite happy with it… spent 20 minutes tweaking the BSP tree and got a render in less than 2 minutes with very good disp resolution…(ps. With one area light in the scene)

P.S.-COLOR MAP VEEERY WIP

Anywyas, tomorrow ill do a new session to get a new displacement for the final render…

very nice as well!

The paint job is looking good, like you said its very early but i thought I would add some suggestions. I would add more blue in other ares like you have in the upper lip area, around the eyes, temples etc… maybe some more redish/purple colors in there, like the lip color is great. id add some of that (subbtley) in the ears, around the eyes, nose and broken up in other areas as well.

again, great work!

Beautiful work…if that word is strong enough

Totally amazing reality to it :+1:

really nice models man, the face of the woman is great!! congrats!!!

ps:curras de esto en londres?

Hello Guys,

I did a bit of work in the maps and the shaders (just diffusion for now) and im gonna ask you for what u think of them… one has displacement on and the other is just the base mesh.

Any critics would be appreciated.

All the best

Mario
