Hey Guys,
I’m a bit of a novice in ZBrush so please have patience with everything I am about to say. I am currently in the middle of following a Zbrush tutorial about making custom Zbrush Alphas and have become stuck on two key steps. Both issues occur in a blank default document with a single filled layer. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.
The first issue comes up when using the Directional Brush with the drag stroke and a custom alpha. What should come out is shown on the right in the image below but I am only able to get the image on the left. For some reason the brush seems to be cutting out some of the alpha and only applying the most white areas. Using the “Simple Brush” I am able to get the proper alpha however it lacks the rotation function of the directional brush.
The second issue is one that I believe to be of a similar problem. As above, the desired image is shown on the right while the one on the left is what I am getting. This is using the Deco Brush with drag stroke, the default 51 alpha, and the default rainbow texture off. Both images are using Zsub but appear to have vastly different outcomes.
I also found a thread on polycount where a user believes that Pixelogic made some changes to the DecoBrush tool between 4R5 and 4R6. I’m hoping there is some alternative tool or way to change this back…
For anyone interested in watching the tutorial you can find the video here and the exact times where my problem arises is at 6:10 and 19:14
Thanks again for anyone that can provide help!
