8k displacement map limit

Hello,
is there a way to bypass zbrush 8192x8192 resolution limit for exporting displacement maps?
Thanks in advance,
Artur

Not at this time.

Honestly, it would typically be a bad idea to do so. A 16k texture would be massive in terms of memory use, which can bog down your renderer. You’re better off using four 8k maps or – even better – sixteen 4k maps. By breaking the map up into smaller chunks, your renderer is given more options for memory management. It can therefore load only what it needs for any given frame, which greatly improves performance.

Thank you very much. I’m using 3delight (renderman compliant renderer) though. Anyone has experience in tiled displacement maps with this renderer?
Cheers,
Artur
