7 Faces of Dr. Lao

I just spent a lot of time trying to figure out why my image of a snake-man seemed familiar (the one I posted in Ztevie-rae’s dragon thread). Then it occured to me, it’s a lot like an image from an old '60s Sci-fi movie “7 Faces of Dr. Lao”. I love old movies like that. It also occured to me that I made my image without even thinking about it directly, almost like I was creating from my subconscious. It just reminded me about how everything we see and do affects what we create. I had some time off from work today so I played with the same face and Ztevie’s material again. It’s really cool stuff

Awesome image Zoid. Fantastic work.

Love the texture and the eyes! The hair makes it pop! :+1: :+1:

That’s some great hairwork, Z-Man!!!

Great work Zoid, The skin texture, hair and eyes looks perfect… :+1: :+1:

I saw that movie for the first time a few weeks ago – and you’re right. The snake creature was very reminiscent of what you’ve created (or vice versa).

I like the direction that you took with this, too. Although if I remember correctly, the snake had the face of the movie’s villain rather than the doctor… But you’ve done a great job with the hair and eyes here. Very nice, indeed!

Here’s something scary, the only time I saw this film was over twenty years ago. So my recollection of it is a little dim, but obviously it made a huge impression on me, as did all the movies of George Pal.
Thanks for the comments about the hair. I almost posted the hairless version of this. Yes, the fiberBrush is fun

that material is just awesome …your putting it to good use…excellent image and texturing…

I totally agree
Good modelling and a very neat looking material. The hair is fabulous and i see that my attempts with the fiber brush were futile this far - gotta get onto this some more.

Why cant days have …30 hours ?
