64bit blues

Hi all!

haveing a 64 bit system is a pain in the butt some times…
Every month or so there is a new and imprived version of windows xp X64, it requires me to format my hard disk every time… it even insists on whipeing out my 32 bit partition, and destroying my MBR so any other linux on the system will not function…
I have activated my windows xp 32 bit too many times and now i must call microsoft every time I re-install.

now i have reinstalled Zbrush too many times, and Element 5 says I must contact pixologic to get more activations from my pop code…

Should i call the Nice folks on the Pixologic Phone line, or should I send Tech support an E-mail?..

Thanks in advanced for any help :),
have a good day

For anything regarding ZBrush activation, if Element 5 cannot help you then you should always contact [email protected] directly. Thanks.

I am bummed and glad to hear this news.

Bummed because I am trying to get a 64bit system going for Lightwave64 (not out yet) which will make having huge texture maps and models easir to work with. Now that I am hearing windows64 is still really iffy right now I am encouraged to wait…sigh.

Happy that you brought this to my attention though. Will remember for future refrence incase I end up in format64 hell.

yea, well, If you dont install linux it wont make you destroy anything…

With just another windows partition everything works just fine, you can re-install and it wont effect anything…

Think I am just being Punished for useing a non M$ product

ummm, this is good news about lightwave 64! I am glad i have waited so ling to buy another 3d application… i am almost out grown Blende3r…
Plus I have learned Lightwave 7.5 years ago  so I will be right at home

I am going to go and check out the prices and the intended OS…

I think lightwave has a linux version, if not WINE claims it runs without any tweaking…

well anyways… if you dont plan on useing LINUX, you dont haveto worry about nukeing your whole system just to re-install new windows…

My BIGGEST DISSAPOINTMENT IS WACOM!!! they dont plan any 64bit divers for 6 months after the release of Longhorn in late 2005… i hope they do something sooner like an open beta test…
I have Been looking hard for a tablet with 64 bit drivers… hope i find one soon… whoevery i buy it from deserves double its worth! i want it sooo bad!!
Right after the Release of the AMD64 and SUSE64bit , some people got together and compiled some 64 bit drivers…
