Will Zbrush 4 come in a 64 bit version?
I’d say it’s about time…
The answer to that seems to be a secret. I was surprised 3.5 was not 64 bit.

they are holding it back - an ace up their sleeves - if mudbox release an update that makes their app much faster, then pixologic will make zbrush 64-bit and unleash hell once again. :lol:
Well I’d hate to think that they’re intentionally holding it back.
While ZBrush does do a reasonably good job at managing memory, especially with multi-million polygon models, that whole “compacting memory” thing is getting kind of old. Especially after the 400th time in one day you’ve waited for it to do its thing .
It was great for the days when all most of us had were 32 bit computers, but nowadays just seems like an archaic workaround.
There will be no good excuse for ZB 4 not having a 64 bit version.
Currently, Mudbox 2011 64-bit seems uber responsive and light on my 8gb/quad core machine. I hope zbrush goes 64-bit soon!
I hope Zb4 will become 64 as well… i am over here trying to open my file and i can’t because i hit a limit, although I am just running ZB… here’s to 64 bit ZB
