4R7_QuickHeavyLoadMech Project loses left leg if merging visible subtools

When I load the default 4R7_QuickHeavyLoadMech robot project and then go to Subtool and Merge visible subtools, for some bizarre reason, the left leg is gone. The final merged mesh is everything except the left leg, which is missing.

I’ve also tried manually merging down each subtool and then export out the .OBJ file. But when I reload it, the left leg is missing. Anyone know what could be wrong with that left leg?

A number of the subtools are ArrayMeshes. You need to make these meshes (Tool>ArrayMesh>Make Mesh) to make them actual geometry before merging.

Thank you Marcus! If you have another moment, can you explain why you would use Array Mesh here instead of Mirror And Weld? I noticed Mirror and Weld makes the same result as doing Array Mesh + Make Mesh.

Well, one reason might be to keep the model weight and therefore file size down. As the ArrayMesh is made up of instances then file sizes will be smaller. In this particular case it doesn’t make a lot of difference but at other times it could be a consideration.
