4r6 Dynamesh Subtract Subtool

Hello ZBC,

Tried using one dynameshed object to Boolean a chunk out of another. Best way up to this point would be to use the same method this guy uses…

Go to 3:30 through 4:35 to see the process. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pX5XdYoWPj0

Problem is that opposite of what I need to happen occurs. The sub-tool i need becomes the Boolean object and disappears leaving the actual Boolean object with the bite out of it. Could someone please provide a surefire way to subtract one dynameshed sub-tool from another as shown in the above link?

Much Appreciated.

UPDATE: Nevermind, problem solved.

Not sure why it was doing what it was but it started working when i basically duplicated the dynameshed subtool, increased the resolution, re-dynameshed, then went through the same steps as before to boolean with the second subtool with a different, successful result. I’m assuming it was just getting confused, something about the first lower resolution dynameshed subtool.

In general, the tool you are subtracting from needs to have the higher number of polys, otherwise it gets confused.

Good to know and thanks!
