4R4 UV Master bug???!!!

I have run into a bit of a problem using the UV Master plugin in 4R4 before and after the patch update. Uv Master works just fine until I tried to flatten my map. I hit the Flatten button and I get this Zscript window.

It then proceeds to flatten the map, but the unflatten button is greyed out, and there is no way to get it to revert back to normal. I tried deleting the uv master files and folders, downloading the plugin again and installed. I still have the same problem. I have tried this with several different models, all with the same results.

Thoughts???

How did you install UV Master? You appear to be using a wrong version. (UV Master is installed as part of the 4R4 installation, along with all the Pixologic plugins.)

Marcus,

I didn’t install it. It was fresh outa the box, what came in 4R4. I thought it might be corrupted somehow, so I backed up the files, removed them from 4R4, downloaded UV master from the plugins download page an installed that to see if it would work. Still the same problem, so I removed what I had downloaded and replaced with the backed up copies, and still the same result. What I have in the plugins folder is what shipped with the update.

OK, thanks. What platform and OS are you using?

Marcus,

Here are my system specs.

I have the exact same problem. Is there a resolution?

It’s probably best if you submit a ticket at the Support Center.

Hey man, sorry for the delayed response…The solution was to back up the 4R4 install folder, then uninstall 4R4. Remember to delete the 4R4 folder that remains in the Pixologic root folder. This is very important. If have deleted the 4R4 installer that you downloaded for the update, you will need to go through the entire process of downloading the installer. After you reinstall 4R4, immediately download and install the update patch before activating, otherwise you will have to go through the activation process twice. I spoke with Paul Giboury directly about this. Somehow my initial install of the 4R4 update was corrupted. The only short solution was to reinstall. Now everything is hunky dory

Now you can copy and paste the contents of your alpha, material, and brush folders from your back up folder. ONLY COPY THE CONTENTS OF EACH FOLDER AND PASTE THEM INTO THE CORRESPONDING FOLDER IN THE FRESH INSTALL! Do not copy the folders and overwrite the folders in the fresh install. I have been informed that this can cause problems.

I hope this helps!

No worries. I actually stumbled onto the solution. I mistakenly copied my older 4R3 “ZStartup” folder into the “ZBrush 4R4” folder. I didn’t think that it would cause a problem, but it did. Luckily, I saved the originally installed 4R4 “ZStartup” folder, and restored it. I then manually copied / pasted the contents into the appropriate folders. Now all is well!
