4r4 images planes to subtool conversion

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post.
I’m having trouble getting image planes set up. I understand that I can apply images to the Floor through the Draw menu but I’m kind partial to planes in subtools for now. The problem it’s pretty tedious to scale and position the subtool plane using Deformation sliders, especially when I want to make tiny adjustments. The Image Plane section of the Texture menu however are extremely easy to line up since all I have to do is move and scale my tool. But using these planes is cumbersome because I keep having to click on my stored views.

My question is, is there a way to convert my Image Plane’s stored views into SubTools?

No, you can’t convert them. The image planes become part of the background and can’t be made into 3D again.

If you load an image using the plugin with no model in Edit mode then a 3D plane is created with the image applied. You’ll find it in the Tool palette with a name like ImagePlane#01. You could then append this as a subtool to your model but you will need to scale and position the plane how you want once appended.

As the grid image method works in much the same way as image planes as subtools, I do encourage you to take a look at it. See here:

HTH,

Thanks for the reply marcus.
The grid image method was what I was referring to when I mentioned applying images to the Floor via the Draw menu. I’ll probably make that my new work flow but I have an assignment due and didn’t want any surprises for this project.
