Hello, first post on this forum so please be gentle with me
So here is the deal - I am designing some parts in CAD programs to be 3D printed and I want to use Zbrush for final decoration.
But I cannot find a way to make it work.
Becouse speaking is not my greatest ability I prepared a simple example to explain what I meanā¦
I design a simple pipe.
So what I have is a simple 10 minute design of a pipe with tunnel inside and a opening for a pipe-stem to be put there.
And now, what I want to do is to shape the outer shell with some decoration⦠And please forgive me for the presentation I made in those coming pictures
BUT
The first problem is that if I try to shape the outer shell the ātunnelā that is inside (or even the stem place) gets distortedā¦
Usually to the point that the walls gets a lot of little holes which then I cannot fixā¦
I tried some masking etc. but I cannot find any simple and fast solution, which I belive must exist
And it is a scenario that will be mainly use by me - shaping the outer parts, without changing the insides.
Also - I need to dimmensions to be fixed like hell. For example the opening that the stem is to be put must stay the same, so it will fit afterward⦠This is a seperate part so other dimmensions are made to work with it.
Nothing āaboutā or really close would work if something else connects to it.
So any ideas if this is possible?
I tried making something like that but did not get any usable results, everything gets distorted, with some extra work the walls gets A LOT of small holes that I cannot fix, and sizing is impossible to get, especially when theres a situation like on the last picture - the āxā is obviously bigger then it was before the ZBrush decorationg becouse theres some convexity added and thanks to this nothing could be measured properlyā¦
If I will not find a solution then I will not be able to use ZBrushā¦
