Hey Desmoda!

I’ve tried contact with you via email but maybe I should be more patient…

I want to ask how the model should be prepared for you to print?
It should be solid or shelled wall (empty inside)?
What is the minimal thickness for wall and the maximum tranglecount for object?

Any chance to get approx. prices (for example 1/8 scale print) without a prepared model?

regards!
Paul

Hello Desmoda, no news from you, I dropped you another email.

Hi Paul! Thats strange, I was sure I replied about the caterpillar~ mm… ill email it again… and PM you on zbc just in case.

There is nothing there at your website link
The work you are posting here looks fantastic
How would someone contact you to get work done - only by email??

Yup email! Yah I know its stupid… everyone tells me to get the website up… im keeping it down for now to make sure we can do the work that comes in as good as possible instead of growing beyond what we can handle. Poisoned milk! It’s evil i know. But what are we supposed to do with limited resources X-D. Just email [email protected].

I get the idea.
Pushing deadlines at this time, but will be in touch
Thanks for explaining

Wow - just trawling this thread - amazing prints by ownage/desmoda - I Hope you can get some time to show some of your 2015 prints soon - would love to see new pieces and see this thread continue.

These prints are amazing!

Are you guys still taking commissions? Iv’e sent 2 emails and heard nothing back

Hey Desmoda, been a big fan of your work for a while now. Keep up the great job. Im actually thinking of getting into the business of 3d printing models, but not at your skilled level. Im assuming your working with high end industrail printers to get thhe job done on your end, but what type 3d printer could a normal consumer buy to get the same or almost the quality you achieve? I apolagize if you already answered this question before in your thread. Thanks and geep up the great work!

Have you seen the new Solus DLP 3d printer? $3000 with the projector. Can do down to 25microns xy and 10micron z.

No denying that the Solus D is impressive for the money. First fruits of the trickle down effect of technology no doubt, but it’s limitations make it essentially useless for the kind of work were seeing here as the print area is barely 2" x 1" @25 microns. Not saying it’s impossible but you’d have to cut your model up into very tiny pieces and manually graft it all together in order to get even a passable facsimile of what Des is cranking out for frankly pennies. Then you’re responsible for painting it yourself too.

Honestly Des, I understand you haven’t peeked in here in a while but after stumbling upon this thread early this afternoon and subsequently wasting away the remainder of my weekend thoroughly reading it from beginning to end, I can’t help but comment on how amazed I am by both the quality and affordability of your service, but also your evident wealth of character. I literally just joined the forum to comment on that. I feel I have actually learned quite a lot about what to expect and how to approach my future project.

I am an industrial designer by trade. Powersports to be precise. Motorcycles and atvs to be even more specific. But my first and undying passion had nearly always been character design and comics. though I realize it might be taboo to mention this in a Zbrush forum I have been teaching myself Mudbox as I am fairly proficient in Autodesk Alias and the interface seems much more familiar to me. The point is I was hoping to learn this news medium mostly to expand my arsenal on a personal level, however if there were a way for me to potentially supplement my income by selling a limited number of physical statues created from my digital work, I may have more incentive and justification for the time investment necessary to make it happen. This thread has given me that incentive.
I should comment on how incredibly impressive the artwork you all have created is. The statues are amazing but the design and modelling is where the real talent lies!

I miss Desmoda’s updates :frowning:

Be nice to also see the zbrush models side by side for comparison

anyone knows the process (if is possible) to printing the images on the 3d sculpt ?
I mean. I want to printing a little arm with his tattoos. but i know that the resolution 3d printing it’s not enough for the details and gradients of a tattoo.
Maybe it’s possible printing in a paper or something and transfer ?

Your best best it to have it printed on a resin printer then have it painted with the details

Hi. Thanks. mmm That means that the tattoo’s details isn’t possible to printing or transfer nowadays? … maybe printing and transfer to arm. with some technique?
Thanks for show me some solutions.

You can try Shapeways.com but it will be pricey.

Thanks for answered, I’ll try doing a negative and transfer it to cast and bake the print. like a mug, and paint with mate color.

Knowing you guys now do all different scales…can you link me to a price guide if you have one? I will definitely be wanting to get some original characters and creatures printed out if I can afford it, but may not be able to if it’s around $200.00 just for one little figure to put on my desk. In that case I would at least really need to pick and choose. Z-brush is definitely a heck of a lot faster than traditional sculpting. I’m trying to get away from traditional sculpting for the most part since I need digital for my career, and in some ways it’s just more fun and free I’m finding.
