3D printing And dynamesh

Watching this video tutorial: https://youtu.be/hvQxPIMskGs at approximately 34:30 he dynameshes the model which creates water tight seams, my question is how is he able to dynamesh a model that looks like it has over 20 million polys and retain all that detail? I’m working on a similar figure and scaling up my model and pushing to dynamesh res slider does not increase the res. It maxes out at 2 mil. Any guidance? I’m new to all this so I don’t know what I may be missing?

Do you know about the
Decimation Master plugin ? That’s what I use before I make my models 3d printable. I find that my models need to be way less than 500,000 before I can upload them to anything for 3d Printing. Millions is impossible to me.

The problem for me isn’t output. I usually use decimation master before sending it out to print. My problem is trying to sculpt more details, then cutting up the model and using dynamesh to close the holes like he does in the video I posted. I can’t seem to go past 2 million points in dynamesh. He somehow is using dynamesh and working with 29 million points. I scale up my model and play with the dynamesh slider and It roughly stays at around 2.5 million. That’s my issue.

What version of ZBrush are you using? I think the max dynamesh resolution was increased in 4r8.

Thanks but I’m using 4r8. I still can’t figure out what the issue is. I even try opening up older versions of my model and it’s the same problem.
