3D max to zbrush pipeline question.

Hi, I’m wondering what exactly is the recommended pipeline for a model that is first made in 3d max and then brought into zbrush.

I tried out a model for myself and it went like this:

  1. Made the model in 3dmax.
  2. Unwrapped in 3dmax.
  3. Textured in photoshop and brought it back to 3dmax.
  4. Exported everything as an obj and brought into zbrush.
  5. Massive fail. Textures were all screwed up, and my unwraps too.

Basically, I would appreciate it if someone could guide me through the steps of how to start in 3dmax, create the normal maps in zbrush, and finally bring everything back to 3dmax with zero change in the poly count from what I started with.

For starts, I would not texture before the ZBrush stage. I would either texture after or alongside your ZBrush stage.
