Basically, it’s a 3D facial reconstruction software that can recreate any face with only a single photograph.

yeah this is cool
will this be availiable to the community at all because this in cohearence with zbrush could prove usefull in conceptual work?
very kewl…thnx for the post…
Lemo, thnx for the pdf resource…
Read all those comments on the youtube…(I gotta get a life…lol) alot of people compared it to and said it was FaceGen…(looking up a demo for that in a minute).
Alot of people were already talking about conspiracy theories and this prog used for fraud and that ppl would be put out of work in the modeling industry…
I think anything is possible, but it would probably take the best of the best to pull it off. …the rest of it I disagreed with. What do you all think?
I dunno, I think it’ll definately help with stunt doubling and that sort of thing… but for character generation and concepts, you still need the artist. Some of the best and most memorable CG characters in recent history are totally original concepts, and that’s not something any piece of software can mimic.
I’d be more concerned with various governments keeping a high resolution 3D profile on hand that can be seamlessly integrated with any digital source. “Whats that mister liberal? You don’t want us to drill for oil in Alaska? Why, we have this footage of you shaking hands with Osama Bin Laden… Terrorist! Haul him off to Gitmo!”
 A bit of an extreme example, but in these times it’s not too big of a stretch for the imagination.
