3D carving for mfg.. any ideas

Hi,

I am working with Maya, Zbrush, Rhino and CAD CAM software to produce wooden carvings for high end interiors… I generally model my leaves using NURBS which can take a while and give a pretty crisp look to the final carving… In this last project I decided to use Zbrush to try to get a more organic feel to the leaves… All in all Im not very happy with the results but the project needs to be done and we are going to use the surfaces as is… Im looking for a crisper crease to the surfaces with less lumpy results… I want each of the sections of the leafs to be flat but full of life as it twists and turns through space… Kinda like the beard on this guy…
