32mm sculptor looking to get into Zbrush

Hello all,

Straight away to the point; When you buy Zbrush from a reseller are you gettign the same product as you would directly from Zbrush themselves??

If so why is it cheaper to buy from resellers?

I am NOT tryign to take a jab at Zbrush’s prices here I just don’t know what I am doing and if I am goign to fork over the investment to get statred I want to be SURE it will be worthwhile.

I am new to zbrush, somewhat. I have mucked about with the demo and I think Ihave a pretty good feel for the utmost basics. I am now ready to buy Zbrush and have a go.

I am a sculptor of 32 mm fantasy miniatures and I would very much like to get Bolverk the Bold.jpg

So long as you purchase from a site listed at http://www.pixologic.com/resellers you will be fine. Those are all authorized resellers which means you’ll be getting a legitimate copy of ZBrush. There is no difference in the product if you purchase from one of them vs. through Pixologic.

If the price is significantly lower, you’re probably looking at the Academic resellers. Those licenses are restricted to non-commercial use.

Thanks Aurick. That is very helpful. Teh first reseller I checked was an academic reseller. SO I gues sthat means that anythign made with that package cannot be used for a comercially distributed product right? Liek 3d prints, games and such?

I would surely like to see your minis modeled in ZBrush. Btw, the pics are not showing.

Thanks Silvaticus. Are they showing for you now?

Yeap, I knew them anyway.

Yes, educational licenses are not for production purpose.

you should check this thread and contact the author as he is sculpting 37-40mm figures: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=50898&page=17&pp=15
