3-pixel border when exporting tile-able texture [Answered]

Hey there. I’ve created a tile-able 512x512 image and when I export it into Photoshop it comes in with a 3 pixel-wide horizontal dark grey line (most likely my zBrush background) on the border. When I render using the best renderer, instead of the line I get the last row of pixels duplicated three times on both the vertical and horizontal borders (this is visible on the zBrush document itself and when I ~slide the canvas those pixels don’t move).

Doing a screen capture or a depth grabber shows that the document is 512x509 when using preview render even though the canvas is set to 512x512.

Is there a render setting to fix this glitch? Best renderer just seems to try and mask the issue, poorly.

Try the little plugin here: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?94752-Useful-small-ZScripts-and-Macros-for-ZBrush-4-amp-4R2&p=848052&viewfull=1#post848052

Thank you! Worked brilliantly.

Marcus, I dunno if you have the power, but is there a way to get the plug-in to render with the flat setting? Hitting the flat render just makes it switch to the preview render mode when capturing.

Flat rendering is important for game textures where you need the normal map to do all the work.

Good point. I’ve updated the plugin to take care of that.
