I tried using 3.5 for an animation project. I made the high resolution mesh in 3.5. exported displacement, bump and diffuse with the .ma file. I opened that file in maya and the scale is HUGE.
I then went back to 3.5 and scaled the model down a huge extent to match a reference scale i keep to match for Maya. I tried to create a displacement map in zbrush and the bump preview on the low poly mesh is like alot of dents because of the scaled down model.
BUT this is not the problem. When I render the animation(camera animation only) the displacement on the model keeps flickering?! I tried the PUV andn then AUV unwrapping method but the flickering doesnt go away. I’m using Mental Ray for rendering. The animation is very basic and for testing purposes. Haven’t touched anything.
Is this because of the new displacement settings that are punched in with the .ma export?? this problem was not there with multidisplacement 3.
Whats going on?
